The Idaho Transportation Department is set to commence construction next week on State Highway 75 to enhance safety and capacity between Elkhorn Road and River Street. The project, expected to conclude in late 2026, aims to widen the highway to four lanes and improve intersections and pedestrian access to meet traffic demands for the next two decades.

Beginning the week of April 28, crews will remove trees in certain areas. Throughout the construction period, motorists should anticipate a speed limit reduction to 25 mph in construction zones and traffic disruptions, including:

- Lane availability will be restricted, maintaining one open lane in each direction between Elkhorn Road and River Street.

- Work hours are scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with occasional night and weekend exceptions.

- There will be closures and detours on local roads, traffic shifts on SH-75, and nearby routes.

SH-75 serves as the main north-south artery in the Wood River Valley, connecting Bellevue, Hailey, Ketchum, and Sun Valley in Blaine County. The improvements will facilitate smoother traffic flow and better access for pedestrians in the affected areas.

The project team will keep the public informed about traffic changes via email and updates on the website. Those interested in receiving updates or seeking more information can visit the project website, email the provided address, or call the listed phone number.

The project endeavors to accommodate the rising transportation needs projected over the next 20 years.
