The Idaho Transportation Department has initiated crack sealing on US-91 in Pocatello. The work started on Monday at 5th Street and progressed to 4th Street. The project will continue north through Pocatello along Yellowstone Avenue as long as weather conditions allow.

"Once we reach Cedar Street, we will shift to nighttime work to minimize disruption to businesses," said Pocatello Foreman Anthony Richards. "Other than where the pavement is concrete, we're planning on continuing north all the way to Walmart."

The sealant used in this process is designed to prevent water from penetrating the pavement, which helps reduce erosion and extend the road's lifespan.

Motorists should anticipate single lane closures within the work zone. Drivers are advised to use the Idaho 511 system for updates on traffic impacts related to this project and other ITD projects across the state.
