The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will hold an open house on March 6 to discuss plans for improvements to U.S. Highway 91, stretching from Siphon Road to Reservation Road. The initiative aims to address the area's increasing growth.

The public is invited to review preliminary design plans at Tyhee Elementary School in Chubbuck from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Community members are encouraged to attend, learn about the project, and provide feedback. Project staff will be present to answer questions.

Current design proposals include widening US-91 between Siphon Road and Tyhee Road to two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane, resurfacing US-91 between Tyhee Road and Reservation Road, and improving residential access within the project area.

For those unable to attend in person, identical information will be available online for comment from March 6 through March 20 at itdprojects.idaho.gov/pages/us91-siphontoreservation.

“ITD recognizes how vital US-91 is to the Chubbuck area, and we want to be prepared as growth in the area continues,” said Project Manager Bo Frasure. “Input from the community will be essential as we move forward on this project.”

Further details about the US-91 improvement project can be found at itdprojects.idaho.gov/pages/us91-siphontoreservation.
