In response to the forecast of more snow in the region, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) has announced a temporary closure of U.S. Highway 20 from Anderson Dam Road to Hill City. The closure is scheduled for tomorrow, February 12, 2025.
ITD crews will be engaged in removing accumulated snow and overhangs along this section of the highway. This effort aims to enhance safety and facilitate more effective plowing operations. The affected stretch of US-20 will be inaccessible from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during these activities.
Foreman Gabe Sielaff emphasized the importance of this route for travelers, stating, “We understand this is an important route for many travelers, and our goal is to keep it as safe as possible. Clearing this snow now will make the highway safer for everyone, especially with more snowfall expected as early as Thursday.”
Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and consult 511.idaho.gov for updated road conditions prior to travel.
