The Idaho Transportation Department has announced the planned closure of Interstate 84 at the South Jerome Interchange (Exit 168) for two nights, March 17 and 18. The overnight closures will facilitate the placement of girders to support the new Lincoln Avenue Bridges.

On Monday, March 17, eastbound I-84 will be closed under the Lincoln Avenue Bridge from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. During this time, motorists are advised to use the eastbound ramps as a detour around the closure. The eastbound off-ramp is detoured to Bob Barton Road and the on-ramp is rerouted to E Frontage Road S. Business access on Bob Barton Road will remain open with a detour in place.

The following night, Tuesday, March 18, westbound I-84 will be closed under the same bridge from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Drivers should utilize westbound ramps for detours during this period. The westbound off-ramp is directed to E Frontage Road N where business access remains available.

Lincoln Avenue may experience some impact due to these closures; therefore, motorists are encouraged to seek alternative routes over the freeway. The work schedule is subject to weather conditions.

This construction project aims to improve traffic flow at this interchange as vehicle volumes increase now and in future years. Motorists should anticipate occasional I-84 and local road closures, traffic shifts, and ramp changes until project completion in 2026.
