FOIA Request to Idaho State Board of Education Regarding University Employees' Salaries on November 14, 2024.
In our continued commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Gem State Wire have submitted a request for records under the Idaho Public Records Act § 74-101 et seq. We have asked for a list of all university employees' compensation, including those from community colleges.
The requested data includes specific fields such as the name of the employee, their title, the name of the university they are affiliated with, their employment type, and the amount they receive as compensation.
As a media organization dedicated to gathering and reporting news to the public, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
