Merry Christmas! | Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin
I believe it is fitting that each year comes to a close with a reminder that Christ was born of a virgin so that he could die for our sins. It is easy to get caught up in politics and daily worries, and Christmas serves as a reminder of what really matters.
It's been more than 2,000 years since that first Christmas, and yet we are still commemorating the most important event in human history. As we celebrate this year, I hope we can all set aside our worries and stresses for a little while and focus on the miracle of eternal salvation through Christ's death and resurrection.
"And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." (Luke 2:13-14)
This Christmas, I encourage you to enjoy the holiday season, celebrate with your family, and remember the many blessings we enjoy here in America. Merry Christmas!
There is still time to see the Hero Tree outside the door of the Lt. Governor's Office at the Idaho Capitol in Boise. This tree was put up by the Gold Star Mothers to honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our liberty. I know that many of you won't have the opportunity to see it in person, so I am including some pictures below.
Sincerely,
Lt. Governor Janice McGeachin
