They Refused to Give Up

Last week, ISP Communications Officer Ray Shute, and Trooper David Wesche, were recognized for their efforts in the safe return of an 11-year-old child who was reported missing from another state.

Working together, RCO Shute and Trooper Wesche used all their resources to help coordinate the child's safe rescue from a remote campsite in Idaho County.

ISP received a letter from the Georgia law enforcement agency that had been searching for the child saying, " It is hard to believe they were found alive, that far from the vehicle, and in those conditions. It's a relief to know that there are men and women who refuse to give up."

Refusing to give up is a good way to describe the dedication RCO Shute and RCO Wesche displayed in this and many other situations as they serve with the Idaho State Police.  We're fortunate to have outstanding and committed professionals like them on our team, serving the people of Idaho.

We would also like to thank the Lewiston Tribune Reporter, Kaylee Brewster, for sharing their story.  Many people don't know the kind of work that goes on behind the scenes by the men and women who serve with ISP.  We're grateful for this opportunity to share one of the stories about the life-changing and life-saving work they do every day.
