Probation & Parole District 5 officers Conley Hyde and Vincent Ortiz have been awarded IDOC’s Silver Cross for helping save the life of a client who had overdosed on fentanyl.
They found the man face down on a bed during a home visit. They administered NARCAN and performed chest compressions until an ambulance arrived.
The Idaho Department of Correction's Silver Cross is awarded to correctional professionals who display prompt or alert action resulting in a life being saved or the prevention of serious injury to others and for demonstrating exceptional care for other individuals.
