Did you know all three ISP Forensic Labs are accredited?
It’s true! During National Forensic Science Week, ISP is proud to remind the public that all 3 labs earned reaccreditation last year from one of the largest accreditation bodies in the world, the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). This is a big deal!
Accreditation takes lots of focus and hard work. But we believe successfully passing the standards helps maintain public trust and confidence in the essential work we do. We added accreditation in breath alcohol instrument calibration last year and plan to add accreditation for our digital forensic unit, crime scene unit, and new forensic document and handwriting analysis unit in the next two years. We are raising the bar for Idaho and the entire country for the way forensic science is accomplished.
“To build and maintain public trust, our leadership, scientists, nurse, evidence staff, and administrative support team all support using the best practices and most current standards to keep our labs accredited,” say ISP Colonel Kedrick Wills. “Their hard work and dedication to maintaining the bar at the highest level is something the people of Idaho and all of us at ISP take pride in.”
