U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho) has expressed his appreciation to the interns who served in his Washington, D.C. office during the fall 2025 term. The internship program gave students the opportunity to learn about federal policymaking and assist with daily office operations.

“Senate internships offer firsthand experience in public policy and the legislative process to the next generation of Idaho’s leaders,” said Risch. “I applaud this group for the great work they did to serve Idaho.”

The interns included Maggie Hunter from Boise, a senior majoring in International Studies at the University of Idaho; Sydney Dean from Rigby, a senior at Brigham Young University-Idaho studying Public Policy and Administration; Lauren Davies from Eagle, a sophomore at American University studying Communications, Legal Studies, Economics, and Government; and Porter Abplanalp from San Tan Valley, Arizona, a senior at Brigham Young University-Idaho majoring in Political Science and American Government.

Each intern contributed to office activities while pursuing their academic interests.
