Senator Risch announces nominations for Idaho students to U.S. military service academies

U.S. Senator Jim Risch (R-Idaho) has announced his nominations for Idaho students seeking appointments to the United States service academies for the 2026-2027 academic year.

“These Idahoans are some of the Gem State’s best and brightest,” said Risch. “Their leadership, academic promise, and commitment to defending our freedoms make these young men and women well-suited to attend one of our nation’s esteemed service academies. I commend each of them for their accomplishments, and I look forward to seeing their continued success.”

The nominations will now be considered by the four federal service academies: the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo.; the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.; the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y., which will determine final selections.
