Work on State Highway 14 near Elk City is set to commence Monday. The project aims to repair potholes and resurface a 10-mile stretch of the highway. Additionally, shoulders in poor condition will be repaved to enhance safety.

Motorists approaching the work zone should expect flaggers and delays ranging from 15 to 30 minutes. Traffic will be reduced to one lane with alternating flow guided by pilot cars. Crews will begin at milepost 23, working east towards milepost 33 and Elk City.

All work will pause by 6 p.m. on August 7 in preparation for Elk City Days, scheduled for August 8-10. Highway crews will resume operations on August 11.

The paving is expected to significantly improve rideability and safety for travelers.

This $2.5 million project is anticipated to conclude by mid-September.
