Ofc. Jim Bruegeman was honored recently for 20 years of service with the Idaho Department of Correction.

Jim has been an officer with North Idaho Correctional Institution since he joined the department 20 years ago. He is a prior recipient of the Employee of the Quarter award at NICI.

Jim is known for his cooking ability and enjoys sharing his creations with the staff at NICI.

“He has a knack for making jerky, smoked fish, and salsa,” said Lt. Jared Cash. “Jim always has a good story to share about his days of hunting and fishing. When it comes to tall tales of his outdoor exploits, Jim actually has proof with pictures and mounts in his home.”

Jim is respected by his teammates and the resident population that he supervises on a daily basis.
