The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Idaho is seeking small business leaders to join its advocacy program. The organization outlines several activities for advocate members, including testifying at legislative hearings on small-business issues and hosting lawmakers for tours of their business operations.

Advocate members can also serve as media contacts and assist in implementing political strategies for elections. This includes recruitment, endorsements, fundraising, and other grassroots efforts. Additionally, they can help shape questions for the state ballot that are considered by lawmakers and state officials as representing the true voice of small businesses.

“Nothing commands the attention of politicians better than hearing directly from a small-business owner,” states NFIB Idaho. Serving as an NFIB Idaho Advocate provides access to legislative offices.

For those interested in being more involved in setting the small-business agenda, further information is available by contacting NFIB Senior Grassroots Manager Stacy Jenkins via email at Stacy.Jenkins@nfib.org.
