Lane and sidewalk closures are set to begin Monday on Eagle Road as the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) works on underground utilities for new variable speed limit signs. The affected area stretches between Chinden Boulevard and Ustick Road.

According to ITD, lane closures will take place nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. through December 10. Pedestrians will be rerouted during daytime sidewalk and shoulder closures, with detours along Eagle Road, Chinden Boulevard, and McMillian Road.

The project is part of ongoing safety improvements on Eagle Road. The variable speed limit signs aim to provide drivers with real-time speed feedback and lower speed limits during peak traffic periods. ITD expects the signs to be operational in the coming months.
