The Idaho Vandal women’s golf team will begin play at the Big Sky Championship on April 19 at Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona.

The championship is important as it marks the end of the season for the Vandals and provides an opportunity for them to compete against some of the top teams in their conference. Sacramento State and Northern Arizona University are considered favorites for this year’s title, but Idaho aims to perform strongly.

Laura Caamaño will lead the Vandals as their No. 1 golfer after securing a seventh-place finish at the Georgia State Invitational and placing 38th at the Bobcat Desert Classic. A freshman who joined the lineup last week achieved a team-best 26th place at the Bobcat Desert Classic and will be positioned as Idaho’s No. 2 golfer during this championship.

The tournament consists of three days and covers a total of 54 holes, played on Wigwam’s Blue course, which measures 5,981 yards with a par of 71. Jung is scheduled to be the first Idaho player to tee off, starting at 7:50 a.m., with groups beginning every ten minutes afterward.

Live scoring for the event will be available online, along with access to a championship program.
