The Idaho men’s tennis team will travel to Phoenix, Arizona, to participate in the 2026 Big Sky Conference Championship as the number five seed, according to an April 22 announcement. The opening match is scheduled for Thursday, April 23 at 8:00 a.m. against Montana State at the Phoenix Tennis Center.

This tournament appearance comes after a season marked by injuries and close matches for Idaho. Both Idaho and Montana State enter the tournament with identical conference records of three wins and four losses. Earlier this season, Idaho narrowly lost to Montana State in a closely contested match that ended with a score of 3-4 on the final court.

Senior Chetanna Amadike has led the Vandals throughout the season and was named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week four times. The team recorded victories over other conference opponents including Idaho State, Sacramento State, and Weber State despite facing challenges from injuries.

Montana State enters the matchup following a loss against Montana, while Idaho is coming off a defeat by Northern Arizona. The winner of Thursday’s contest will advance to face regular season champions Northern Arizona on Friday morning at 8:00 a.m.
