Filip Soderqvist was named Mountain West Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week, according to an April 15 announcement from the conference.

The award recognizes Soderqvist’s performance during Boise State’s match against Utah State on April 11, where he remained undefeated in both singles and doubles play. He was the only member of his team to achieve this result in that matchup.

In doubles, Soderqvist and his partner Stewart Aronson won their match 6-4 against Jean-Baptiste Badon and Dmitri Goubin on court two, helping Boise State secure the doubles point. In singles competition, Soderqvist delivered Boise State’s only singles win by defeating Jakub Medved with a score of 6-3, 6-1 on court five. This victory marked his fourth consecutive singles win, which is currently the longest active streak among Bronco players.

This latest honor marks Soderqvist’s third weekly recognition as a freshman. It is also the most freshman honors received by a Bronco men’s tennis player in a single season since Pedro Liborio earned five such awards in 2022.

Boise State, ranked No. 69 nationally, will conclude its regular season against No. 70 UNLV on April 18 at Appleton Tennis Center. The event will include a ceremony to recognize the team’s seniors.
