The Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame announced on Apr. 29 the induction of five couples for 2026: Jeff and Cindy Siddoway of Terreton, Shaun and Patrice Walters of Newdale, Rick and Alene Keller of Chubbuck, Dennis and LuAnn Lake of Blackfoot, and David and Patsy Crapo of St. Anthony. The organization also recognized Jade Searle, Shayman Munns, Colby Ward, Taylor Smith, and Ryan Gould as recipients of the Ed Duren Young Producer Award.
These recognitions highlight individuals who have contributed to agriculture in eastern Idaho through their work and commitment. Many leaders associated with the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation come from families with a long tradition in farming that is dedicated to maintaining agricultural heritage, according to the official website.
The Idaho Farm Bureau Federation supports its members through annual dues that help fund scholarships totaling more than $255,000 each year according to the official website. The organization also provides educational programs that reach over 41,000 schoolchildren annually with agriculture-oriented content designed to strengthen connections within communities according to the official website.
Maintaining strong ties with the American Farm Bureau Federation while preserving independence for its 38 county-level entities is another priority for the group according to the official website. Currently, more than 92,000 member families are part of the federation statewide; over 10,000 are actively involved in farming or ranching activities according to the official website.
The federation aims “to rally farm and ranch families to tackle issues and promote education, economic opportunities and social well-being,” according to the official website. The recognition given by this year’s Hall of Fame event reflects ongoing efforts by local agricultural leaders toward these goals.
