The Idaho men’s basketball team announced on Apr. 20 the signing of junior forward Diego Trejo-Delgado, who will join the Vandals for the 2026-27 season after two years at Division II Saint Martin’s.

Trejo-Delgado’s addition comes during a busy recruiting period for the program, which has been building its roster with new talent. His arrival is expected to strengthen both ends of the court for Idaho.

“Diego is a huge piece of the puzzle for us,” Head Coach Alex Pribble said following Trejo-Delgado’s commitment. “He brings some real toughness and competitiveness to our team. He’s versatile and can impact the game in a lot of ways. The Vandal community is going to love watching him!”

A native of Camargo, Mexico, Trejo-Delgado played a key role in helping Saint Martin’s achieve a record-tying 26 wins last season, along with capturing both regular season and tournament titles in their conference. He averaged 15.2 points per game on 49 percent shooting and nearly seven rebounds per contest, earning first-team all-conference honors and ranking among league leaders in several categories. On defense, he led his team with 30 blocked shots and recorded multiple double-doubles late in the season.

Trejo-Delgado also received recognition as an NABC All-District selection and D2CCA All-Region Second Team member, while being named GNAC Player of the Week after posting a standout performance against Western Washington.

He becomes Idaho’s second transfer portal addition this offseason, joining Kase Wynott—Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year and high school all-time scoring leader—as part of efforts to strengthen next year’s squad.
