Washington, D.C.–On Flag Day 2023, U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) joined Senators Steve Daines (R-Montana) and Kevin Cramer (R-North Dakota) in introducing a constitutional amendment to prohibit the physical desecration of the American flag.

“The American flag is one of the most visible and enduring symbols of our nation’s great history, our struggle for independence and the continued belief in liberty and justice for all,” said Senator Crapo.  “Wherever the flag is flown, it stands as a beacon of freedom and democracy.  We must honor and respect those who have sacrificed their lives in defense of the freedoms and values the flag represents and we all hold dear.”

Crapo also co-sponsored the Amendment during the 117th Congress.  Full text can be found HERE.
