The Boise State track and field team completed three days of competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, on April 19. The event saw several athletes achieve notable performances, including three new top-five program marks.
The results are significant for the Broncos as they continue to improve their standing in various events. Brian Kiprotich improved his time in the men’s 10,000 meters to 28:43.38, moving from fifth to second all-time in school history. Christian Graham also made program history by recording a time of 28:57.27 in the same event, ranking him fifth all-time.
Alex Thompson continued his strong season by posting a time of 3:40.52 in the men’s 1,500 meters—now third fastest ever for Boise State. The team also celebrated two heat wins: Haley Blaine won her heat of the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase (open), and Eliisa Marshall took first place in her heat of the women’s 1,500 meters (open B). In total, Boise State athletes combined for 24 personal bests during the meet.
Additional results included solid showings across multiple events for both men and women competitors. Notable finishes came from Bianca Boehnke with a sixth-place finish in her heat of the women’s invitational 5,000 meters (15:54.90) and Jack Sheesley taking second place in his section of the men’s open B 5,000 meters (14:28.81).
Looking ahead, Boise State will host its second annual Ed Jacoby Twilight meet on April 24 at Ed Jacoby Track at Dona Larsen Park.
