The Boise State track and field team will conclude its participation in the Mountain West Conference at the 2026 MW Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled to take place in Clovis, California from Thursday through Saturday, according to a May 13 announcement.
This event marks the end of Boise State’s tenure in the conference. The three-day meet will begin with men’s decathlon and women’s heptathlon events on Thursday, alongside several throwing events and preliminary races. The schedule continues Friday with most competitions occurring in the afternoon, while Saturday’s finals start at 1 p.m. Pacific Time.
On the men’s side, eight Broncos or relay teams are ranked among the top eight in ten different events within the conference this season. Notable entries include Raekwon Weatherspoon (first in long jump), Tanner Nett (fifth in shot put), Chase Lawyer (sixth in 400 hurdles; eighth in 110 hurdles), Brian Kiprotich (sixth in 10,000 meters), Aayden Simmons (sixth long jump; seventh triple jump), Alex Thompson (seventh 1500 meters), as well as strong showings from both relay teams.
For women athletes, Kaiya Robertson holds this year’s fastest time within the conference for the 1500 meters. Three other Broncos—Emily Jobes, Abby Kendrick, and Haley Blaine—are among the top five steeplechase runners. Victoria Lotz is currently third best in hammer throw and fourth best shot putter this season. Additional competitors have secured top-eight rankings across sprints, distance races, jumps, throws, and relays.
The lineup includes detailed schedules for both men’s and women’s squads across all disciplines throughout each day of competition. This comprehensive participation highlights Boise State’s depth as it seeks to finish strong during its last appearance at these championships.
Looking ahead beyond this weekend’s meet could signal new directions for Boise State athletics following their exit from Mountain West competition.
