Boise State defeated San Diego State 5-2 in the final game of their series on April 26, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh inning to secure the win.
The victory marks a significant achievement for Boise State, as it is their first series win at San Diego State since 2018. The Broncos improved their record to 22-30 overall and 8-14 in Mountain West play, while San Diego State fell to 23-24 overall and also holds an 8-14 conference record.
Jorja Crider delivered a key single that brought in the go-ahead run during the decisive seventh-inning rally. Quinn Southerland added an RBI-single, and Talia Jenkins drew a bases-loaded walk to extend Boise State’s lead. Earlier in the game, Jenkins had hit an RBI-double in the second inning and later scored on an error as Boise State took an early two-run advantage.
San Diego State managed to tie the game before Boise State’s late surge. Julianne Rose, Charley Duran, and Kodi Crabtree combined efforts from the mound to limit San Diego State to seven hits. Duran earned her fifth win of the season while Crabtree recorded her second save by securing the final three outs.
The Broncos’ latest victory was also their third this season achieved during their last at-bat. Looking ahead, Boise State will host San Jose State from April 30 through May 2.
