Boise State will return to Dona Larsen Park for a three-game series against the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Rebels from April 17 to 19. The Broncos, with a record of 20-26 overall and 6-10 in Mountain West play, are set to play six of their final nine games at home after completing a five-game road stretch.

This series is significant as both teams look to improve their standings in the conference. UNLV currently holds an 11-5 record in Mountain West competition and leads the all-time series with Boise State by just one game (21-20). Last season, Boise State swept a three-game series at UNLV, outscoring the Rebels by a combined score of 34-19. In previous meetings this year, the teams split a doubleheader during the regular season before Boise State won against UNLV in the conference tournament.

The Broncos recently finished nonconference play with a loss at Idaho State on April 14 and have faced tough competition throughout the season. They have played nearly half their games against top-100 Massey Ratings opponents and scheduled matchups against several nationally ranked programs including Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, Stanford, Grand Canyon, Mississippi and others.

Several individual performances have stood out for Boise State this season. Kate Penberthy has homered in four consecutive games—a feat achieved by only two other players in program history—and leads the team with ten home runs. Pitcher Loula-Rae McNamara earned both Mountain West Pitcher of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors after recording two saves without allowing any hits over six innings during a doubleheader sweep at Sacramento State on March 17. Junior second baseman Skylar Stroh leads Boise State with thirty-seven runs batted in (RBI), including key home runs against ranked opponents.

The Broncos have enjoyed success within their conference since 2017—winning more games than any other school except new member Grand Canyon—and capturing regular-season titles in both 2018 and last year. They also reached NCAA regional tournaments twice recently.
