Boise State beach volleyball was eliminated from the Big 12 Beach Volleyball Championship presented by Allstate after reaching the semifinal round, according to an April 24 announcement. The Broncos defeated Arizona State University before falling to Texas Christian University.

The outcome marks a significant achievement for Boise State, as the team recorded its first Big 12 postseason victory and its highest-ranked win in program history against No. 12 Arizona State. These milestones reflect the team’s ongoing development and success over recent seasons.

In their opening match, Allyson Alden and Ava Anderson secured an early lead for Boise State with a win on the top court. Despite Arizona State taking two points, Charlee Ellena and Lily Patock rallied to even the score before Anderson and Avery Allen clinched the decisive point for a 3-2 victory. The Broncos then faced TCU, where they were defeated as TCU claimed three straight matches to advance.

Head coach Alex Venardos said, “I saw everything that we asked of them after yesterday. It was very clear that everybody was on a mission. It was a full team effort and there wasn’t anybody that wasn’t rowing in the same direction. We left it all out there and tried our best to empty the tank.” Venardos also said, “These women proved all season long that they belong here… We took a giant step forward this season and we set the bar high for next year’s team to keep going.” He added praise for senior players: “This program isn’t even recognizable from when these seniors first got here four years ago… We’re not here without them.”

Several individual achievements were highlighted during this tournament run: Ava Anderson became Boise State’s all-time wins leader with her 85th victory; Addison Wolden tied for eighth-most single-season wins; Allyson Alden recorded her fourth-most victories from the top court; Lily Patock moved up in career wins rankings; Ellena and Patock achieved their fifth-most tandem victories at No.5 position; Patock played her fourth-most contests in program history; Wolden advanced on career duals played list.

The conclusion of this season sets new standards for Boise State beach volleyball as they look ahead to future competitions.
