Congratulations to the 57 members of Correctional Peace Officer POST Academy Session 90 who graduated Friday during a ceremony at Boise State University.

The academy was one of the biggest in the history of the Department.  The academy was also held in two different locations, which IDOC training manager Melodee Creech says posed challenges for staff and students.

“Every single one of you that are sitting here today committed to this, and you committed to an environment that was not the best way to do this, and you committed to make it work, and we couldn’t say thank you enough,” Creech said.

Officers Tyler Blasingame, Garrett Smoot and Rayona Driskell received the Tactical Edge award.

Officers Elijah Jackson and Shad Wright received the Top of Class award.

Academy coordinators Jen Bazar and Nic Christensen received the Top Instructor award.

See photos and video of the ceremony on IDOC’s Facebook page.
